Shop 140 Boundary Street,
West End, Brisbane QLD

How long have you had the store for?
Ride On Has been Rocking since late 2007 so near 3 years now which i am honestly stoked on..

What was the reason for starting it?
There is a few but Personally for me it was something I have always wanted to do for years, from working in all parts of the industry from Mechanics in shops to Re-ping for Distro’s to sales guy for massive everything shops to the kid doing work experience I guess its something that I Had to Try cause I genuinely Love it.  When Ride On started there was No BMX store anywhere near the city that was doing anything Rider Run or BMX so there was a massive need for a BMX store for alot of crew, plus I felt there was a gap that alot of Crew in Brisbane were not getting support from a shop that would help grow the scene.
not to say there wasn’t shops doing BMX but having No BMX Rider Run shop in all of Brisbane was never going to help grow the scene.

How many people work there?
Any given day two but there is usually 5 people to run the shop from opening the door to paying the bills Monday to Sunday. I Run the shop and everything there is to do with it. My Lovely Wife looks after the Money side bills pays etc
Mikey Cz Manages when I am not in and is the 2nd go to guy plus all around ladies man. Benny Clissold works Mechanic and sales and shreds like a mad man on the Bike as well. Just Recently Mate and Team shredder Chris Courtenay has started to work a couple of days while Mikey is on a 2 month BMX holiday in Europe No one is more Psyched on BMX that this kid and if there is something the 5 of us cant work-Understand or fix then your pretty much boned!

What is the most satisfying thing about running the shop?
Helping my mates weather it be helping create opportunity with jobs parts or a place to hang and knowing that at the end of the Day when you
walk into “Ride On” if you have found a place that supports BMX In Australia to its fullest potential..

Do you do mailorder?
Sure Do, we rock deals all over Australia and NZ all you got to do is hit the website we have a full online Shopping cart and site that has I would almost say more info and images than most online shops these days. Or if the net aint your thing just give us a call and we can help guide you in the right direction on what you want and need, as we often have more gear and products available than what is possible to fit online.. and do alot of orders over the phone as well..

What has been the most random thing that has happened in the store?
Man West end is a Rad and colorful place, and we are situated in between 2 Bars on a funky street in the Brisbane CBD so head in and grab a beer to
check it out for yourself.

The most common question asked by customers is?
“can i borrow your pump”

Does the shop have a team?
Its does have a Team but I would say more of a Crew as there is alot of Crew I try help out where I can, but officially its….
Chris Courtenay, Raphael Jeroma Williams, Mitchell Mcdonald aka “Macca”, Mikey Cz, Tom Stretton, Tom Dunn, Gareth Hadfeild and Steve Lyons. I have a crew weather they be Unofficial team guys good mates or good customers or just often in the shop for a chat that I help out where I can so I will add them also Peta Sheaperd, Jack Birtles, Roman walker, Zac woods, Brodie Knox, Andrew Jansen, Polish, Munza, Braidy, and Willy.
I guess without Ride On all those dudes would be running shabby bikes.

How many times a day do you get asked for scooter wheels?
Man I get this question a bit as we sell Skate gear so it looks like we would probably sell em but we probably get asked every day.
But Never have Never will sell em…    same goes for Unit clothing …

Do you offer work experience for school kids?
To be honest Not usually, we have a Tight shop with tight crew and I have tried it in the past but unless I know the kids from the store I usually dont as how we work is probably the opposite to most shops a young kid can get a job in so I often give advice to the school councilors on the shops that I know that are usually down for kids building 12″ kids bikes that will give them more useable experience but that said a cool Customer hit us up last week and we did and it worked out so it really depends.
