For myself the ACT Jam was always that event that I wanted to attend growing up and every time after seeing the photos from the event of what just went down would always leave me so jealous I wasn’t there so when this years event came around it was a no brainer on attendance – ACT Jam 2015 was happening!
I can say without fail that the jam lived up to the years of hype and then some! Seeing that many BMX riders in one place sending it on anything and everything was just amazing to see and I couldn’t help feeling pretty damn grateful that I was able to be apart of it.
Grateful that I could be 6+ hours from home with my best friends, riding bikes in zero degrees at 10pm at night while making new friends, landing new tricks, crashing into the fucking ground (which I’m still paying for a week later), watching people go to hospital for sending it and simply being able to take it all in.
Actually you really don’t feel like you’re away from home at all.
I must say Backbone did an amazing job with the event because I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced that much positive vibes in one place – The Flem banks Jam in Melbourne maybe comes a close second (Shoutout to Coops!).
The Backbone DVD that premiered was an amazing part of the event and I can also say that it is possibly one of the best DVD’s I’ve seen to-date – Will ‘Fucking’ Gunn… that is all. Be sure to pick yourself up a copy when it officially drops!
I can safely say that ACT Jam 2015 is up there with the best 2 days I’ve ever had on my bike in nearly a decade, even if I still can’t walk properly nearly a week on – thanks Belconnen down rail!
Lastly, if you haven’t attended before, please put it on your to-do list for next year and make it a fucking priority.
Don’t let it slip because it’s a weekend to remember and something you can proud to be apart of – BMX is family in its best form and this event has clearly confirmed that for me and I can’t wait for 2016!
