The big kidney bowl at Meadowbank skatepark has made it a hub for transition riding in Western Sydney since it’s opening in April 2019. Indeed, I have done most of my riding there in that time. In an effort to share this with the greater scene, we’ve held jams there for the past two years. Both of which were really fun, but neither had especially strong turnouts. Needless to say, I was shocked to roll in at 2:45 to find the decks lined completely with BMXers.
It turns out the Sydney scene is really strong if you can get us all in one place! As the night unfolded, we all bore witness to some top level bowl riding in the big bowl, while plenty of crew were shredding the little bowl and plaza. This was one of the best riding days I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of in a long time, can’t wait for the next one!
Massive thanks to everyone who came to hang out, ride, film, shoot photos and be a part of it, and endless appreciation to Colony BMX, Back Bone BMX, Fast and Loose and BMX Mafia for getting behind the scene.
