Jam Nation – Parrabowlooza

The BMX jam. Very little characterises the very spirit of our little microcosm than this seemingly instinctual activity. A simple gathering of people from all over, set to a classic soundtrack and usually accompanied by some DIY additions to the park is something that resonates with all of us. Jams can be something to look forward to; an excuse for a road trip, a reason to ride somewhere you maybe otherwise wouldn’t, or even a reason to spend more time that bike you’ve been neglecting. But they’re also much more than a means to an end. The atmosphere at a good jam can scarcely be replicated in any other environment. The veritable melting pot of BMX styles and personalities invariably yields good times. The above reasons became the motivation for Parrabowlooza.

Despite a clash with a certain religious holiday and dubious weather, there was still a solid turnout of good dudes, and the weather actually turned out ideal. Everyone shredded through til dusk. Smiles were had, high fives were shared and the collective stoke was high. Cheers to all the legends who made it out, especially you boys who travelled, you rule! A special thanks to Murli Dhir, Stephen Cole and Jason Cousins for putting it all together, Colin Taylor for the shots, as well as Colony BMX, Division Brand, BMX Mafia, Hell on Wheels and Focalpoint for getting behind the jam. Catch you all at the next one!
